Is an associate of the Horváth Laboratory of Bioseparation Sciences (HLBS) at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Her main research topic is the examination of protein-DNA interaction in the promoter region of the D4 dopamine receptor gene. Ms. Szántai graduated form the Eötvös Loránd University , Faculty of Science ( Hungary ) in molecular biology and made her PhD studies at the same place at the Classical- and Molecular Genetics Doctorial Program. She worked for a short period in the Department of Bacteriology in the National Center for Epidemiology ( Hungary ) where her research topic was development of diagnostic methods for leptospirosis. After that she continued her research in the Department of Medical Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Pathobiochemistry, Semmelweis University ( Hungary ) with studies on genetic polymorphisms in the human population, especially the analysis of the polymorphic regions in the monoamine receptor and transporter genes and their regulatory regions.
