Katalin F. Medzihradszky is an adjunct professor of pharmaceutical chemistry in the School of Pharmacy at the University of California San Francisco . Her research area is protein structure elucidation, her primary tool is mass spectrometry. She has been a member of the NIH-supported Mass Spectrometry Facility since 1988. She is a well known expert in mass spectrometry-based de novo sequencing as well as the characterization and site-assignment of post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation, phosphorylation, sulfation and covalently linked cofactors. She received her M.Sc. and PhD degrees in organic chemistry from the Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest .
