Zuly Rivera-Monroy

Is presently working in the design and synthesis of novel labeling molecules for Proteomics as part of her PhD Thesis at the Horváth Laboratory of Bioseparation Sciences (HLBS) in the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Zuly Rivera-Monroy graduated as a chemist from Universidad Nacional de Colombia ( Bogotá , Colombia ). Her thesis work was in the field of Natural Products. She isolated and identify six flavones from Mikania sylvatica (conf) ethanolic extract. This work was awarded as meritorious. After graduation, she started working at the Fundación Instituto de Inmunología de Colombia on solid phase peptide synthesis, especially to generate tetramer peptides to be used as immunogens for a possible malaria vaccine . She characterized them by various methods such as RP-HPLC, SEC-HPLC, CD, IR, MALDI-TOF MS.
